Another year older...

...and yet I feel so young. Maybe it's the kids keeping me on my toes, or could it be the new 'do?

I had a very nice birthday weekend. Saturday, I got a much needed haircut that took a day for Keith and kids to get used to. I went shorter than originally planned, so when I walked in and they were waiting behind the sofa with gifts, not sure who was more surprised! Eva's immediate response was "get your long hair back". Don't think Dylan cared, or even noticed. :) After a few hours Eva said she liked it, but wanted to be sure I could still ride bikes. Not sure where she came up with that..kids are so funny. We had a fun weekend filled with all my favs: shopping, spending time with family, eating great food-cheesecake, wine, Thai on Saturday, grilled fajitas on Sunday. Think I put on a few pounds, but being with my husband and kids to celebrate all that the Lord has blessed me with this past year makes it all worth it. (just have to spend more time on the elliptical this week!)

Thanks Daddy, Eva and Dylan for making my birthday so special! I love you!

Our baby boy is growing up...

Hard to believe that Dylan is officially closer to two years old now. He turned 18 months on August 1st and mommy knows all too well how quickly 6 months will pass. He still likes to cuddle up with us...although, usually not for more than a minute..sniff,sniff. Then he's off to chase the cats or his sister. Dylan is totally into anything with wheels. It's funny to watch him push his toy vehicles around the house, and drive them on the walls and the cats. He also enjoys building block towers, coloring, playing in the mud, climbing and jumping on furniture, and trying to catch frogs! I cringe thinking about the daring and crazy adventures he will have as he gets older. I just hope and pray he doesn't share the same pyromania as his daddy!

Happy 18 months, Dylan!! We love you!
